Our aim is to promote health and wellness for expectant mothers and new mothers through the help of Ayurvedic resources.
Ayurveda places significant importance on the care of mothers during all phases of life, particularly in prenatal and postpartum care. According to Ayurvedic principles, pregnant women should be treated with the utmost care and attention, as if carrying a glass filled to the brim with oil. The postpartum period, which encompasses the first 40 days after childbirth, is considered a crucial time for a new mother to receive education and support in caring for both herself and her baby. Following delivery, women may experience physical and mental exhaustion, making it crucial for them to receive adequate rest, psychological comfort, and a balanced diet.
Ayurveda offers numerous herbal remedies to support a woman's health postpartum. Additionally, it suggests providing warmth, hydration, and nourishing oils through therapies such as specialized food preparation, a warm living environment, ample rest, and daily oil massages. These treatments aim to restore the mother's wellbeing and support her transition into motherhood.
In Ayurveda, the term sutika (puerprial woman) can be used only after expulsion of placenta. In this period the body tissues especially the pelvic area revert back to the pre-pregnant state both anatomically & physiologically. Thus,Postpartum care is essential for women to regain all the lost things and reach pre pregnancy status. Also,After delivery women become weak and also empty bodied due to the imbalance of elements/Minerals (Dhatus), physical stress and pain during labour & Loss of moisture (kleda) and blood. Inappropriate physical and mental behavior/stress (internal or external) in this period may lead to incurable diseases or diseases which are difficult to treat or cure. So our goal is to help you follow proper puerperial care for women to regain all the lost things and reach pre-pregnancy status. This health conscious generation, a special lifestyle is also suggested by Ayurveda to maintain the health of the postpartum women.
Food preparations and diet modifications are aimed to support the digestive system, physical and mental restoration of all systems and improve milk supply for the newborn. After childbirth a woman’s digestive system is weakened and needs to be recharged and nurtured. Ayurveda suggests certain dietary modifications such as warm, wet, oily, sweet, sour and salty tasty foods to bring Doshas in equilibrium.
